(Jun. 11) - Ariane Landuyt, Professor of Contemporary Histery at the University of Siena, has been awarded an honorary degree in International Relations and European Studies by the University of Oradea, Romania. The prestigious title was awarded by the Academic Senate of the Romanian University, on the proposal of Ioan Horga, Professor of European History, and of the international scientific committee that supported the initiative. The ceremony, held in recent days, has been attended by over 200 academics, local authorities, civil society members, researchers and students from several European universities. As was pointed out in the laudation, presented by Professor Horga, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa is just the last stage of the successful career of Professor Landuyt, an active supporter of European studies, carried out in the Centro di ricerca sull'integrazione europea (CRIE) - Centro di Eccellenza Jean Monnet which she directs since 1988 at the University of Siena.
