St. Moritz – Alberto Aliverti and Sergio Carrara claimed victory at the Coppa delle Alpi St. Moritz Edition, part of the winter racing series linked to the historic 1000 Miglia. Driving a 1937 Fiat 508 C, the crew of car number 2 secured the win with a nearly flawless performance, finishing the race with a total of 617.87 penalty points. For Aliverti, the result marks a repeat of his victory in the previous edition of the winter race.
Second place went to Francesco and Giuseppe Di Pietra in a 1938 Fiat 508 C with 626.52 penalty points. Gianmario Fontanella and Anna Maria Covelli finished third in a 1930 Fiat 514 S with 634.40 penalty points and also claimed the St. Moritz Trophy. The Ladies’ Cup was awarded to Lucilla Sartori and Emanuela De Gressi in a 1955 Austin Healey 100 BN1, who finished 14th overall.
The competition began on March 12 under bright sunshine, with more than 60 crews competing across challenging stages in locations such as Madulain, Zuoz and the Montebello quarry, before tackling the famous curves of the Bobrun track in Celerina. After crossing the UNESCO Biosphere of the Engadin Valley and passing the historic Monastery of Müstair, the race concluded under heavy snowfall, returning the event to a more typically winter atmosphere. One of the most unusual moments of the rally came when participants loaded their cars onto a train to travel through the 19-kilometer Vereina tunnel between Klosters and Susch, a memorable interlude before the final stages leading back to St. Moritz.
