Sept. 5 - After the great response to the first two editions, the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest is organizing once again the exhibition "Italian sounds of yesterday and today." The event runs from September 15 to December 15, along the banks of the Danube river, with music by great performers and surprising repertoires. "The concerts - says a note presenting the event by the IIC - are intended for both an audience of experts and for those who approach for the first time these styles."

MAKING ROOM FOR CONTEMPORARY DANCE

The third edition of Italian sounds will feature musical genres ranging from chamber music and opera music, as well as ancient and contemporary music, and pop music. This year, contemporary dance will also have its own area. Overall, the event will bring great repertoires, and will also feature some cornerstones of musical literature. There will also be surprises along the way, with old-fashioned pieces to be rediscovered, and unusual bands for either composition or their proposed genre. As always, the performing artists will partake in this great reinterpretation exercise for the audience. This edition will include seven events in the unique setting of the Italian Cultural Institute’s Giuseppe Verdi Hall, known for its acoustics and for the purity of its architectural lines.
