Zagreb – Everything at Arena Zagreb is almost ready for Ennio Morricone’s big concert. The musician began working with Sergio Leone, a classmate of his in elementary school, back in 1964. His first soundtracks were "A Fistful of Dollars," but he has since written music for Bernardo Bertolucci, Gillo Pontecorvo ("The Battle of Algiers"), Pier Paolo Pasolini ("The Hawks and the Sparrows"), Pedro Almodovar, Brian De Palma, Roman Polanski, Barry Levinson, and Giuseppe Tornatore. In recent years, Morricone has received several prestigious international awards. In 1994, he was the first non-American composer to receive the lifetime achievement award from the "SPFM - Society for Preservation of Film Music". (9Colonne)
