Cooperation at Macfrut: an important reference for Africa

Rimini - From May 8th to 10th, 2024, the Rimini Expo Centre will host the 41st edition of Macfrut, the Italian agrifood event that gathers the global supply chain of fruits and vegetables. The event hosts 1,400 exhibitors representing the entire supply chain, and for this edition, there is a significant growth in the exhibition area, as well as an increasingly defined presence of foreign entities, representing 40% of the total, including 400 from the African continent. The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, which will participate in the 2024 edition with thirteen foreign offices, involving executives, technicians, and partners engaged in common projects focusing on agriculture and rural development, has also contributed to these results. "We operate with interventions to support small producers, local communities, strengthening them through knowledge innovation, production process, and technological innovation, aiming at inclusive economic growth. But also with projects that involve important agricultural sectors, on a regional basis, such as coffee. For Africa, we can represent an important reference, our agricultural sector has developed in a decentralized and widespread manner across territories, with a fabric made up of SMEs, thus a credible and realistic development model for the Continent's Partners," stated Director Rusconi.
