Business opportunities in Africa for Abruzzo companies

Abuja - The Third Internationalization Forum, "Opportunities in Africa and the Middle East. Focus: Egypt, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia," was held on July 2 in Pescara. This event, conceived by Alessandro Addari, Vice President of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, was organized in collaboration with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo. Opened by Umberto Sgambati, Vice President of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, the forum featured participation from Letizia Pizzi, General Director of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo. It provided a platform to explore business opportunities for companies in Nigeria, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Remote participants included Stefano De Leo, the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Vincenzo Calì, Director of Ice Cairo, and Romano Baruzzi, Director of Ice Riyadh. In person, at the Orofino Hall of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, Grazia Sgarra, Head of Office - Development Cooperation Actors, Partnerships, and Financial Tools at Aics, outlined the activities of Italian Development Cooperation in Africa under the Mattei Plan. The focus on tools to support the development of Italian companies in African and Middle Eastern markets was addressed by Simone Baglieri, Business Relations Manager for Central-Eastern Italy at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Filippo Coderoni, Relationship Manager at Sace SpA's Business Network, Francesca Alicata, Chief of External Relations, and Carlo de Simone, Head of International Development at SIMEST SpA. The event concluded with field testimonies from two Abruzzo member companies: Piergiorgio Di Carmine, President of JV Almacis, who joined from Kenya, and Umberto Sgambati, President of PROGER SpA, along with Mauro Della Giovampaola, Director of the International Management Office at PROGER SpA. The proceedings were moderated by Claudia Pelagatti, Head of International Affairs at Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico. (9colonne)
