Brussels - The project “Biotechnologies for Human Health and Blue Growth” (BYTHOS), led by the Department of Biological, Chemical, and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies at the University of Palermo, has been selected as a finalist for the RegioStars Awards. This competition, organized by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, recognizes the best cohesion policy projects funded by the European Union that have stood out for their effectiveness and innovation.
Bythos, which was already selected at the regional level by the Department of Planning of the Sicily Region, was chosen from a pool of 262 projects proposed by various European countries. It is the only Italian project among the 25 finalists selected by a jury of high-level academics from various fields in the category “A Competitive and Smart Europe,” which aims to promote competitiveness, innovation, and economic resilience.
Starting September 2, public voting for the “Public Choice Award” will open on the RegioStars website. The finalist project with the most votes will win this award. On October 8 and 9 in Brussels, each finalist project will be presented to a live audience and discussed in the presence of the jury. The awards ceremony will take place on October 9. The winners will benefit from a local communication campaign to promote the awarded activities in their region. (9colonne)
