Mar. 13 - The tourist offer of the Veneto region is first considering Italian hospitality and fourth European destination for number of overnight stays. This year, it looks at the Russian market with a significant presence at the 20th edition of the MITT, the International Fair of Travel and Tourism, organized by the ITE Group Plc. (Great Britain) and ITE OOO (Russia) March 20 - 23 in the International Exhibition Centre at Expocentre Moscow. "This is the most important tourist event and most representative for professionals in the field of Russia and Eastern Europe - said the Veneto commissioner Marino Finozzi - among the five largest tourism exhibitions in the world, it takes place when operators announce new programs, prices and itineraries. Its location is also key: Russia is a fast-growing country looking at the Veneto and other destinations.
In 2013, Russian guests reserved almost 865,000 overnight stays in Veneto, an increase of 19.4 % compared to 2012, in line with the trend of double-digit increase of the past three years. The Russians are now ninth for number of visits, with the arrival of about 282,000 guests who seek the best from art, culture, gastronomy and relax areas. Most of our visitors from Russia tend to stay longer than average.”
VENETO: FOOD AND ART
In Moscow, the Veneto region will present its tourist offer, accompanied by wine tastings, to bring the warmth and flavors of the region just a little closer: from Venice and the other artistic cities, the Dolomites and Cortina, the beaches, spas and hills, and Lake Garda. "We hope to increase awareness of our proposal - said Finozzi – however, our best advertisement is the tourists who have already stayed in our hotels, eaten our food, and walked through our nature."
