Apr. 29 - Words and music are ready in Budapest for the "Contemporary" exhibition, organized by the Italian Institute of Culture. Established to bring into mainstream culture the rich repertoire of recent classical music, the event - scheduled for May 8, 15 and 22 - is a journey / discovery that retraces musical experiences that span generations to reclaim those wide-open spaces in the relationship between sound, space, and time. The event invites composers to play their music, thus bringing into the traditional exhibition formula the novelty of the concert/meeting. The series will be heralded by an introductory meeting (May 5), held by László Tihanyi (composer, conductor and professor at the Academy of Music) and Giulio D' Angelo (musicologist), who will illustrate the evolution and research behind music in the 20th and 21st centuries.
THE FIRST EDITION OF “CONTEMPORARY”
This first edition of "Contemporary" will see the participation of Ivan Fedele, famous musician, composer, and director of the most prestigious Italian initiative of this kind organized in the framework of the Venice Biennale. To closing event will be a tribute to Luciano Berio that will see the participation of many emerging Hungarian talents on May 22.
